πŸ“Š Test Your Site’s Core Web Vitals

Core Web Vitals measure how quickly your site loads and responds to user interactions. Optimole helps improve these scores by optimizing images dynamically.

πŸ”§ Adjust Image Compression Quality

Optimole’s AI-powered compression adjusts image quality automatically, but you can customize it for more control.

  • Go to Optimole > Settings > Advanced > Compression.
  • Disable Auto Quality Powered by ML if you prefer manual control.
  • Set a compression level: Low, Medium, High, or Custom.

πŸ“Œ Enable Lazy Loading & Image Scaling

Lazy loading defers the loading of images until they appear in the viewport, improving page speed. Image scaling ensures images fit their display container.

  • Navigate to Optimole > Settings > General.
  • Enable Scale Images & Lazy loading to improve perceived performance.
  • Activate Image Scaling in Settings > Advanced > Lazyload to serve images that match the required dimensions.

🌐 Enable WebP & AVIF for Faster Image Delivery

WebP and AVIF images are significantly smaller than PNGs and JPEGs. Optimole automatically serves these formats when enabled and if browser supports them (modern browsers support them but in case there are those which don't we still fallback to the original image)

  • Go to Optimole > Settings > Advanced > Compression.
  • Enable Automatic Best Image Format Selection to use WebP and AVIF.

🚫 Exclude Specific Images or Pages

If certain images do not display correctly, you can exclude them from optimization.

  • Go to Optimole > Settings > Advanded > Exclusions.
  • Add image URLs or page paths to the exclusion list. Learn more about it.

πŸ“ Resizing

Optimole provides resizing options to limit image dimensions, improving page load times.

  • Go to Optimole > Settings > Advanced > Resize.
  • Enable Limit Image Sizes to set max width and height. Define the max width or height limits for images on your website. Larger images will be automatically adjusted to fit within these parameters while preserving their original aspect ratio.
  • Enable Retina Quality. Enable this feature to optimize your images for Retina displays. Retina-ready images are optimized to look sharp on screens with higher pixel density, offering viewers enhanced visual quality. Learn more
  • Activate Smart Cropping to automatically focus on the important part of an image.

🧹 Clear Cache if Changes Are Not Visible

If images do not update immediately, clearing the cache ensures you see the latest versions.

  • Go to Optimole > Settings > General.
  • Click Clear Cached Resources to refresh images.
  • Clear your WordPress cache, browser cache, and Cloudflare cache if changed do not reflect.
