"Domain is not allowed to optimize images" Error
If images stop loading and you see an error such as "Domain example.com is not allowed to optimize images on Optimole", Optimole received an image request for a domain that is not on your Allowed Domains list. Optimole serves and optimizes images only for the domains listed there, so a request from an unlisted domain is rejected and the image fails to load.
Fix: add the domain to Allowed Domains
- Log in to your Optimole Dashboard and open the Allowed Domains tab.
- Check whether the domain shown in the error appears in the list.
- If it is missing, click Add domain, enter the exact domain, and save.
- Confirm the domain now appears in the list.
After adding the domain, clear any caching layers (WordPress cache plugin, host or server cache, CDN, and your browser), then reload an affected page to confirm the images load again.

Other scenarios that produce the same error
- Serving images stored on a third-party or external source domain: the source domain must also be listed under Allowed Domains, and you then need to refresh stats. See Does Optimole optimize the third-party images?.
- Using a custom CDN domain: this error can appear if the custom domain is no longer verified in your account, including after a plan change. See How can I serve images from my own custom domain?.
- Images stopped after exceeding a plan limit, cancelling your plan, or deactivating the plugin: see What happens if I exceed plan limits?.
